The Flying Eagle B & B is a hidden gem. Patricia (the owner) and Joanne (the hostess) are delightful, gracious people who provide a nurturing, caring environment for your stay. It is one of the quietest places I have ever stayed. The facility is situated well above Cottonwood in the foothills of Mingus Mountain, with a spectacular view of the mountain and the red rocks of Sedona in the distance. There are no noises at all, other than the wind blowing through the trees, and the occasional howling of coyotes at night (a sound I love). It is such a refreshing change from Sedona with its constant airplane and helicopter noise, yet it is only a 20-minute drive to Sedona. I am completely nourished by total quiet—if you share that quality, then I would highly recommend the Flying Eagle. It is a healing place to stay, and a great place for your own “retreat” from the rigors of life.
